I think we are going to put CootieGirl’s modeling career on hold. She isn’t very focused when she goes to her shoots. And if they don’t give her a toy to occupy her, she doesn’t just like sitting there like a lump on a log and waiting for the photographer to take a picture. She’s like her dad. Always on the go. Why can’t she be more relaxed like her mom?

Someone’s got a shiner. Of course, she falls down and scrapes her face a few days before she has her first paid modeling job in a few months. What do you think?

She’s been on hiatus for a while, but CootieGirl got a call today from her agency about a job next Tuesday for a children’s book. This time it’s an actual paying job as opposed to a go-see, and should last about 2 hours. From what CootieDad was told, we’ll get a free copy of the book, which is awesome! The job is from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., so hopefully she can take a nice nap before the appointment so that she’s in a good mood when the shoot-time comes along. That’s my only gripe about a lot of these jobs – they take place at the main nap times for CootieGirl (early morning or mid-afternoon). NCootieGirlbaby is happy when they don’t get their nap. This one is on the cusp, but if CootieDad drives in to the city for the appointment, she can nap in the car and have a bottle when she wakes up – from there she should be in a good enough mood to participate in the photoshoot.

We’ll see!

CootieGirl has a cold – she was doing so well – she hadn’t had a cold in MONTHS. But I guess some infected kid at daycare sneezed on her, because last night CootieGirl was sniffling and stuffed up. To the point where she kept waking up all night. In turn, I didn’t get much sleep either, because I woke up whenever I heard a whimper, and at 2:25 a.m. I actually got up to change her diaper and cuddle her because she was standing in her crib with tears streaming down her face and had a REALLY messy diaper. Once changed and in my arms, she settled her face into my neck and was asleep within a few minutes. I laid her back in the crib and gave her her rabbitito doll, which she sleeps with. She managed to stay asleep for another 90 minutes before whimpering a bit and settling back down until 6:30 a.m. this morning.

I am in need of a nap.

Well, it’s official. We have walking.

I swear it’s the new haircut – the loss of long bangs helped her gain her equilibrium (not to speak of vision) to where she can confidently take about 10-20 steps at one time without holding on to anything!

When I picked up CootieGirl at daycare last night, the care provider told me that CootieGirl walked about 20 feet from the high chairs to a toy she wanted to play with. So when we got home I set her by the bay window, moved across the room and said, “Come ‘ere, CootieGirl!” and sure enough, she got a hee-yuge grin on her face, lifted her arms in the air and toddled over to me, giggling the whole way. When she made it to my arms she gave me a big hug around the neck. Too sweet.

Last night I cut CootieGirl’s bangs again. Except this time I was REALLY harsh and cut off a LOT of length because she fusses a lot when I mess with her hair. She’s got a real pageboy hairstyle now – although I left her curls long in the back and the bangs are even shorter than normal. Remember back about 10 years ago when the “hip style” was to cut your bangs so short they almost didn’t exist? They were about 1″ long MAX? That’s CootieGirl’s new haircut. Hopefully CootieDad can get a good picture tonight and we’ll post it so you can see the new ‘do.
