We had a successful day at the pediatrician today. CootieGirl weighed in at a healthy 13.4 lbs – in the 50th percentile, which means she’s at the exact weight she needs to be – “not to skinny, not to chubby”. She’s also 24″ long, which is also in the 50th percentile. Her head span is also in the normal range. Nice to know I don’t have a fathead daughter.
Developmentally she’s going like gangbusters – doing everything a 4m1w child should be doing. Starting tomorrow morning she gets rice cereal mixed in with her morning bottle, but I tried it out this afternoon and she seemed to like it. And in one month’s time she’ll get cereal twice a day and veggies once a day. My little baby is growing up!
It was traumatic when she got this month’s round of shots. She had to have four shots (as opposed to three last time). She had been having such a great time at the appointment, and the doctor had me hold her hands and talk to her while he administered the first shot into her leg. Well, I’ve never seen anyone’s fact turn that red that quickly. CootieGirl howled as though he had just cut off her leg without numbing it first. Tears immediately sprang from her eyes and she just looked at me as though I was inflicting the pain. She also had a death-grip on my fingers at that point. Poor little girl. He quickly administered the four shots and I scooped her into my arms to sooth her.
She’s been cranky and on edge most of the rest of the day – when I gave her the 4pm bottle she kept fussing through the whole thing and kept debating on whether she’d cry or not. She’s due for her next bottle in the next half hour – hopefully she’ll stay calm and not fuss. We’ll see.
CootieGirl did great at her baby dedication today. We have a couple of pictures, but the lighting was low so they didn’t turn out too well and I really can’t show you anything. In the meantime here is another shot of Marmie and O.

We went to the NJ Jackals game tonight. We didn’t stick around to see the end of the game, but the Jackals were losing 4-2 when we left. Here are three pics from the game and the first naked baby shot. That’s CootieGirl and me with Jack the Jackal.

We’ve found it very hard to find hats that fit CootieGirl. I bet we could corner the market and make a mint if we created a line of baby baseball caps and such. Nothing fits her. Here’s proof.

We went shopping at Target a little while ago. Picked up a few things, including some new baby clothes from the clearance rack. I know, we couldn’t resist. Anyway, the chore weekend continues. I cleaned up and out our fridge this morning. Next up, organize all the paperwork that has been piling up in the closet.

CootieGirlis working on her second cold. I have to assume she got it from daycare again seeing as we don’t take her too many other places and everyone who’s come in contact with her has been disease free that I know of.
I hope she gets mom’s health genes. I get colds and flu’s all the time. In fact, CootieGirl gave me her cold and I’m suffering right now. If I’m like this tomorrow — sick day.
Hope she feels better soon. Or at least gives the illness back to the kid she got it from. Just kidding. No more colds for anyone!
Lots of nose drippings and she spit up large amounts of her dinner on me last night. No new pics. I told you I wasn’t feeling well.
She isn’t doing anything new. Just getting bigger and cuter, so here are some new pics I just took of her. The P’s are coming up for a visit and they’ll take the word on CootieGirlback down to VA with them.
This girl loves the camera.

Here are just a couple pictures for you – including one of CootieGirl doing her frowny face while CootieDad sings “Oklahoma”.

Apparently CootieGirl doesn’t like my singing voice. She has recently begun frowning at me when I sing. But it’s not just any song – she frowns when I sing “Oklahoma”.
It all began a few weeks ago when I had her facing me on my lap and was singing to her and waving her arms around to the melody. She loved it – giggling, smiling, and general merriment. However, it’s taken a turn – it seems she no longer enjoys this – especially when it’s the main theme to the Broadway musical.
We’ll have to take a picture of the face – it’s priceless and CootieDad and I laugh hysterically when she does it. Thus you can hear strains of “Oklahoma” through our house at various times each day.
